Donlan - 2007 - Market-Influenced Mitigation Strategies for Marine Biodiversity Conservation
The Mitigation Strategies project is the central focus of this
new organization’s work. The project will address the issue of
fisheries bycatch and related mortality in seabird and sea turtle
species. Through research, demonstration projects, and policy
implementation, ACS will develop strategies that will utilize
terrestrial conservation interventions (invasive predators and other
anthropogenic-driven factors) rather than fisheries closure. The
project is a collaborative effort between Switzer Fellows Josh Donlan
(1998) and Chris Wilcox (1993) who jointly started the organization
last year.
