Tim Greiner is Managing Director of Pure Strategies, a consulting firm that specializes in building environmental and social integrity into products, brands, and businesses. Mr. Greiner consults with retailers, manufacturers, and environmental groups – helping them on their sustainability journey.
Tim is currently working with clients to incorporate sustainability into product design and development using tools such as life cycle assessment and chemical hazards analysis. Current and former clients include Seventh Generation, Walmart, The North Face, Millipore, Timberland, Rockline, Stonyfield Farm, Dell, The North Face, US EPA, and NRDC.
Tim is a Switzer Fellow and holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and masters degrees in Environmental Policy and Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Greiner is a founding member of the Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Planners Association and a former Board member and President. He is also founder of the Cape Ann Climate Change Network and is a Research Associate at the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production.

Collaborative Initiatives Grant Awarded
Two Switzer Fellows were awarded a Collaborative Initiatives Grant in the amount of $40,000 to address threatened and endangered species conservation.
Three New Leadership Grants Awarded
The Switzer Foundation awarded $115,000 for three new Leadership Grants at our December board meeting. Fellows are working to address aquatic habitat connectivity under a changing climate, environmental justice and clean water in California's Central Valley, and whale conservation in the Pacific.
