Maille is currently a PhD candidate (5th year) in the Department of Marine Sciences at the University of Connecticut. Her research focuses on the role of marine snow in the transmission of pathogens to commercially important, suspension-feeding, bivalve mollusks such as clams and oysters. In 2003, the U.S. Coast Guard moved her family to Oregon so they (husband and 2 daughters ages 9 and 7) now balance a bi-coastal lifestyle, splitting time between Oregon and Connecticut (addresses listed below).
