  • 1:30 pm:  2018 Fellows arrive and check in.
  • 2 - 3 pm:  Introductions and orientation for new Fellows.
  • 3 - 5 pm:  Introductions, continued:  Flash Talks.
  • 5 - 6 pm:  Free time.
  • 6 - 7 pm:  Dinner.
  • 7 - 9 pm:  Social time, campfire.

Saturday, September 29, 2018

  • 8:00 - 8:45 am:  Breakfast.
  • 8:45 - 5 pm:  TRAINING:  Equity as a 21st Century Leadership Competency.  The Switzer Foundation is working in partnership with Angela Park to offer this one-day intensive leadership workshop for Fellows.  The session is designed to help you understand and embed equity as a foundation of your personal and professional impact as an environmental leader.  We will delve into the history of the environmental field and explore core concepts that connect personal experience to power dynamics to the opportunities and challenges leaders face as they commit to embedding equity in the structures and systems of society.  The session will be a significant opportunity to build community with other Fellows and strengthen your own leadership practice.
  • 5 - 6 pm:  Free time.
  • 6 - 7 pm:  Dinner.
  • Evening:  Social time, campfire!

Sunday, September 30, 2018

  • 8 - 9 am:  Breakfast.
  • 9:15 am:  Re-convene, welcome newcomers.
  • 9:30-12:   Fellow-led discussion:  Indigenous Perspectives on Leadership, with Chuck Striplen, 2003 Fellow and Environmental Scientist with the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board (confirmed); Keith Parker, 2016 Fellow, Harvest Management Program Director, Klamath River (invited); and Irene Vasquez, 2017 Fellow (invited).
  • 12 - 12:30:  Presentation of 2018 Fellowship awards.
  • 12:30 pm:  Group photo!
  • 12:30 - 1:30 pm:  Lunch, and depart.
