The Environmental Data and Governance Initiative (EDGI) is a network of academics, librarians, and non-profits that promotes public interest science, evidence-based policies, and public access to data and information. EDGI is archiving public environmental data and websites (with our partners Internet Archive and DataRefuge), actively monitoring changes to government web pages, building tools to ensure public access to and context for this information, and generating public evidence-based analyses of proposed regulations and legislation. In this call, Fellow Rebecca Lave will provide an overview of EDGI's work; answer questions about changes to environmental policy, agencies, and data availability under the new administration; and seek advice about how they can better serve the environmental community.
Our networking calls provide an informal way for Fellows and their colleagues to connect with each other on topics that directly inform their work. We'll provide information about those participating in the call ahead of time. We use WebEx Meeting Center, so participants have a chance to network face-to-face using their webcams (optional). Call times are listed in the Eastern time zone.
