Science & Civic Leadership:  How are scientists answering the calls of our time?

As the Obama Administration enters a second term, scientists in public service are poised to shape policies that could help spare future generations "the destructive power of a warming planet" - a vision the President invoked on election night.  Holmes Hummel, currently a Senior Advisor to the Department of Energy's Undersecretary, arrived at that post via a path that included both a Switzer Fellowship and an AAAS Congressional Science Fellowship.  Join us for an open dialogue between Dr. Hummel and "fellow Fellows" on how insights from science have shaped recent uses of executive powers, and how scientists can continue to make instrumental contributions that help turn the tide toward decisive action.

Please register by Thursday, January 10, 2013.
