The Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation has created a Code of Conduct, which establishes norms and expectations for participation in virtual and in-person communication, meetings, and events sponsored by the foundation. The code of conduct reflects our mission, vision, and values, provides clear guidance to staff, trustees, network members, and event attendees for what to expect within foundation spaces, and establishes methods for escalation and resolution of conflicts.

Our commitment to advancing social equity means eliminating opportunities for white supremacy, harassment, intimidation, and other harmful behaviors to emerge or take root in our community spaces. A good code of conduct provides the transparency and structure required to ensure all members of the network are adequately heard, supported, and welcomed.

To create this code of conduct, we invited discussion and revision by the Switzer Network community. We continue to welcome feedback and suggestions from the network at any time. Instructions for providing feedback can be found in the document or by contacting Laine.

We recognize that effectively implementing a code of conduct will require staff and designated network members to receive continuing education in conflict resolution and transformative justice. The foundation commits to provide access to training resources, and we appreciate suggestions from members of the network regarding excellent individuals and organizations offering such services.

Thank you for your engagement with this important document for our community. Please feel free to contact Laine with any questions.
