Thomas Starrs

Biography

Tom has a long history of interdisciplinary research on renewable energy issues. Tom completed a concurrent degree program at UC Berkeley, earning a MA from the Energy and Resources Group and a JD from the School of Law (Boalt Hall). His dissertation work analyzed legal and institutional obstacles to utility integration of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar photovoltaic systems. Tom is now (since March 2009) at SunPower Corporation, a leading solar photovoltaic equipment manufacturer and systems integrator. He is managing director of the company's utility and power plant division, responsible for market development across North America.
