Patrick McCarthy
Biography
As director of conservation for The Nature Conservancy’s Colorado River Program, Patrick led the program’s basin-wide strategy for native species and ecosystem conservation and provides strategic support to Conservancy projects at 14 priority sites. His experience as a conservation professional includes work as a field biologist and conservation planner in Michigan and New England, director of conservation programs for The Nature Conservancy in New Mexico, and director of the Conservancy's Zambezi River Project in southern Africa. Patrick received a B.S. in anthropology and zoology and completed the post-graduate Naturalist-Ecologist Training Program at the University of Michigan, and earned an M.S. in ecology from the University of Vermont’s Field Naturalist Program.
