Kendra is a writer, researcher, and advocate whose work focuses on the nexus of sustainable food systems and public health. She is currently Staff Scientist in Agroecology & Environmental Health at Friends of the Earth. She is also a lecturer in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy & Management at UC Berkeley. Kendra has been active in the environmental health and sustainable food movements for over fourteen years, including community organizing at Breast Cancer Action, a national non-profit focused on addressing environmental links to cancer, and apprenticing on organic farms in California and Hawaii. Kendra is a 2011 Switzer Environmental Fellow and has written for The Nation, Gastronomica, Civil Eats, and GoodFoodWeb.org. She holds a bachelors degree from Miami University of Ohio and a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy & Management from UC Berkeley.
