Maria Martinez

Biography

Maria A. Martinez is Special Assistant to the Commissioner at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection where she assists with planning, developing, and implementing agency policy and managing special projects. She previously worked in the Washington D.C. office of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) on international climate negotiations and cross-programmatic strategy at the organization. Maria is passionate about innovative solutions that adapt vulnerable populations to the impacts of climate change and help us reach a zero carbon economy. Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies and Political Science from the University of Florida and a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale University.
