Hansen files to run for House of Delegates in West Virginia

Fellow(s): Evan Hansen

Editor's note: Evan is looking for support from the Switzer Network in two ways:

  1. He'd appreciate any advice or feedback from Fellows who have run for elected office, especially at the state level; and
  2. Especially for Fellows with connections in or to WV, some social media noise would be much appreciated!  (We can all do it, but especially Fellows with some connection to his region.)
Evan's email address and contact information are available on his Switzer profile. You can like the campaign on Facebook, or follow it on Twitter.   From January 11, 2016 press release:   Today, Morgantown resident and Downstream Strategies President Evan Hansen filed his paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office, officially starting his campaign for the House of Delegates in the 51st District.   “We need to change Charleston because people are tired of old ideas that aren’t solving our problems,” said Hansen. “As your delegate, I’ll create jobs while working for solutions that improve the quality of life for residents of Monongalia County and for all West Virginians. We need to get our economy moving again.”   Evan Hansen is a small businessman who knows how to balance a budget and meet a payroll. He has deep roots in the community and has worked to create responsible, sustainable economic opportunities for our people and our region. He is married and has one child.   “As a small business owner in Morgantown, I like that Evan also started and grew a local business that is making an impact on the state, and that he knows how to create jobs and strengthen the economy,” said Michael Mills, founding principal of Mills Group. “Evan is someone who has the intellect to think outside the box and bring thoughtful legislation about to support the economic outlook of West Virginia.”   “Evan is a very bright, common-sense guy,” said former Morgantown Mayor Bill Byrne. “He has a proven track record of bringing people together, be they public officials, community organizations, or industry leaders, and the goal is always to get things done. That’s the kind of leadership that West Virginians want, deserve, and expect.”   “Evan's experience starting a business and creating private-sector jobs will be very valuable in Charleston, especially because so few elected officials are small businessmen,” said Jason Coffman, co-owner of Black Bear Burritos.   “Investing in our infrastructure will help improve our quality of life and attract corporate investment. We need to fix our roads, address traffic, make high-speed internet more widely available, and protect our water and natural resources,” added Hansen. “I pledge to work hard every day to make West Virginia a better place to live and work and raise a family.”   Read more at http://www.hansenforwv.com
