About Morgan's Work

Morgan Grove is a social scientist and Team Leader for the USDA Forest Service's Baltimore Urban Field Station. Morgan has worked in Baltimore since 1989, with the Forest Service since 1996, and has been a Co-Principal Investigator in the Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES) since its beginning in 1997. Morgan has been the lead for the Urban Tree Canopy Development team since 2006. Morgan is the lead author for The Baltimore School of Urban Ecology: Space, Scale, and Time for the Study of Cities.

He has a B.A. in Architecture and Environmental Studies from Yale College, a M.F.S. in Community Forestry from Yale University, and a Ph.D. in Social Ecology from Yale University. Grove received the Chief's Early Career Scientist Award in the Spring of 2001 and the Presiden's Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in the Fall of 2001.
