Event Recap: Climate Change's Equity Challenge

On April 28, 2022, Switzer Fellow Clara Fang presented Climate Change's Equity Challenge: Creating a Movement for All of Us to an audience of Switzer Fellows, climate advocates, and concerned individuals.

The climate movement is becoming increasingly diverse, but still lags behind the general population in its representation of people of color. This presentation explored where we are in the climate movement in terms of diversity and inclusion with results from Clara's latest research surveying members, volunteers and supporters of climate organizations. In addition, it covered the historical context for lack of diversity, why diversity is important for climate action, and how we can foster a movement with more belonging and justice for all.
