Associate Regional Scientist for Massachusetts Audubon Society

Hillary Young was hired as the first Associate Regional Scientist for the southeastern Massachusetts region. Her duties will include: (1) conducting a long-term ecological inventory of Audubon's protected lands in the region; (2) advising Audubon's stewardship and education staff on preserve management and environmental education opportunities based on findings from the inventory; and (3) conducting an independent research project on conservation biology as it relates to park and protected area management. The purpose of the inventory will be to inform Audubon staff of the level of biodiversity on their preserves and to compare how well preserves are doing with the region as a whole.
