This project aims to reestablish the St. Croix Environmental Association (SEA) as a reliable source for engaging, culturally relevant, and equitable environmental education through a sustainable system of activities, while elevating the organization’s capacity to acquire future funding. Led by Switzer Fellow Olivia Walton as SEA’s full-time Environmental Education Coordinator, the project’s second year focuses on implementing programs and producing resources that meet the environmental education needs expressed by the St. Croix community during the first year of funding. These activities will enable SEA to provide a variety of consistent educational offerings for the first time since Hurricane Maria and will allow the organization to reach a demographic of students that truly reflects the entire community.
