About Jason's Work
Jason Delborne joined the La Follette School’s faculty in spring 2025 as an associate professor of public affairs, with a focus on science and technology policy. His research has centered on stakeholder and public engagement in the governance of emerging biotechnologies, such as the genetically engineered American chestnut tree, gene drives, and genetic biocontrol of invasive species. In 2024, Delborne completed a AAAS science and technology policy fellowship in Washington, D.C., working in the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office. He was previously a professor at North Carolina State University in the Genetic Engineering and Society Center and Director of the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) program.
