Rodríguez-Cruz newsletter nominated for Impact Media Award
Luis Alexis Rodríguez-Cruz’s newsletter, La Fiambrera, has been nominated for a 2026 Impact Media Award by the Wildseeds Foundation.
“Each year, Wildseeds Fund's Impact Media Award spotlights emerging and influential media makers and platforms that are amplifying the voices and stories of everyday folks working to build more sustainable and resilient food and agricultural systems—addressing the cultures, narratives, and challenges that significantly impact our communities and ecosystems,” as described on the Wildseeds Fund website.
“Luis Alexis is a writer, science communicator and research from Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, with a PhD in food systems from the University of Vermont,” Wildseeds Fund posted in their LinkedIn post announcing nominees. “Since 2023, Luis Alexis publishes La Fiambrera, a rather unique weekly newsletter where he presents different social and cultural dimensions of agriculture (including fisheries) promoting a wider engagement with local food systems and culture.”
