Zeller becomes Senior Director of Science at The Wilderness Society
Katherine (Kathy) Zeller began as the Senior Director of Science at the Wilderness Society in October, 2025. “It is a dream to be in a position that helps develop and direct science at an organization with a long and impressive history of public land conservation,” she shared on LinkedIn.
”Founded 90 years ago, TWS has been the driving force behind the passage of the 1964 Wilderness Act and subsequent protection of over 111 million acres of wilderness. Science has been a key piece of the organization from the beginning, and has been used to ensure countless conservation wins for our public lands. I am honored to help continue this tradition and work with this truly incredible team!”
Kathy’s research “integrates the fields of landscape ecology, wildlife biology, sensory ecology, landscape genetics, and biostatistics to understand how patterns and processes of human-driven disturbance affect wildlife populations, biodiversity, and large ecological networks.”
Congratulations, Kathy!
