Switzer Fellowship Information Session

Switzer staff and recent fellows will be holding two information sessions this fall to share about the fellowship and answer questions from applicants. Prospective applicants are welcome to join Hasibe Caballero-Gómez and Sena Wazer on September 17th and Jadda Miller and Bryan Plankenhorn on November 18th. Recordings of both will be posted online.

Meet the Fellows Leading this Event

Hasibe Caballero-Gómez

2025 Fellow

Hasibe Caballero-Gómez is an environmental health scientist and community advocate. Driven by her lived experiences and a vision of equity, she combines research with grassroots engagement to create meaningful, inclusive solutions for environmental challenges.

Sena Wazer

2025 Fellow

Sena Wazer is a community organizer and advocate from Connecticut. Her work centers around community organizing as a mechanism for creating policy change, particularly at the state level.

Jadda Miller

2025 Fellow

Jadda is a Bellwether Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley’s School of Information, where she partners with Ohlone youth and cultural leaders to co-design mixed-reality exhibits. Alongside this work, she continues the community-based research she co-developed in Maui, Hawaiʻi, exploring how students engage with Kānaka ʻŌiwi (Native Hawaiian) biocultural knowledge alongside Western science in environmental and wildfire mitigation education. Broadly, her work centers Indigenous epistemologies, place-based education, and epistemic justice in environmental and science education.

Bryan Plankenhorn

2025 Fellow

Bryan Plankenhorn (Port Gamble S’Klallam) is an Indigenous scientist exploring harmful algal bloom drivers and reintroducing Indigenous narratives and knowledge into marine resource management. They are deeply committed to supporting Indigenous communities across the United States by amplifying Indigenous perspectives in scientific research and federal policy.
