Niles hired as public health & environmental Professor at Brown University
Meredith Niles is bringing her interdisciplinary research focused on advancing sustainable food security and improving health, environmental, and rural livelihood outcomes in food systems, especially with rural communities, to Brown University.
“I’m thrilled to join Brown with a joint appointment between the School of Public Health and The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society to forge new interdisciplinary collaborations and conduct boundary spanning research in food systems, climate and health that has real-world policy impact,” she shared with IBES news.
As stated on her Brown University profile, her primary areas of research explore improving food security, nutrition, and health outcomes during climate change and public health crises and increasing farmer’s adoption of sustainable agriculture practices to reduce environmental and public health impacts.
