Wilkinson to become Assistant Curator of Community Science at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

Later this year, Christine Wilkinson will start her “dream job” as the Assistant Curator of Community Science at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM).

"I'm looking forward to building upon the amazing work of the museum's longstanding Community Science team, led by Lila Higgins and Miguel Ordeñana IV, while also continuing my work (in the Bay Area, LA, Kenya, and beyond) on the intersections of environmental justice, movement ecology, and the social-ecological drivers of human-wildlife interactions," she shared on LinkedIn.

According to the NHM, they have “amassed one of the world’s most extensive and valuable collections of natural and cultural history — more than 35 million objects, some as old as 4.5 billion years. Its curatorial staff not only cares for those collections, but uses them for groundbreaking scientific and historic research.”

Christine is looking forward to her work in “community science, human-wildlife interactions, urban ecology, carnivore ecology, integrating social-ecological approaches” and more as part of the NHM.

Congratulations, Christine!
