About Sarah's Work

Sarah Sarfaty Epstein is the Senior Project Manager for Groundwater Initiatives at the California Water Data Consortium. In this role, she draws on a background in decision-support data science at the intersection of land use and water resources in California and nearly a decade of supporting diverse coalitions in achieving tangible outcomes.

Sarah has held a variety of roles in the environmental and human services sectors, including as an Associate at Ross Strategic where she provided research, stakeholder facilitation and program design services to public and private clients. She holds an M.S. from the Energy and Resources Group at the University of California, Berkeley, where her research explored agrivoltaics as a tool to support sustainable groundwater use in California. While at Berkeley, Sarah worked with the Berkeley Food Institute to launch an interdisciplinary research team on agrivoltaics.
